The scientific competence field of production technology was highlighted as one of Dortmund\u2019s strongest profile areas in the evaluation report. In particular, the importance of the successful cooperation with the TechnologieZentrumDortmund (TZDO<\/a>) as well as with small and medium-sized enterprises in the city and the region was emphasized. „The scientific content of production technology is very visibly represented in its breadth and depth both at the universities (TU Dortmund University<\/a> and Fachhochschule Dortmund – University of Applied Sciences and Arts<\/a>) and in the research institutions, so that it is possible to speak of a lighthouse effect of Dortmund\u2019s research in this field for Germany“ (Expert Commission chaired by Prof. Manfred Prenzel 2018, p. 79).<\/p>\nThe close networking of science and business is also the focus of activities in the Science Master Plan 2.0. In the past, this has already contributed significantly to the growth and development of the city of Dortmund as a science and business location. The institutes and chairs of the universities work cooperatively and interdisciplinary together with central scientific facilities and adjacent research institutes (ISAS<\/a>, MPI<\/a>, Fraunhofer IML<\/a>, RIF<\/a>, IfADo<\/a>, ZfP<\/a>). The working group sees a central need for networking, communication and strenghthening the local cooperation of science and industry. This requires the definition of a communication strategy and exchange formats in order to inform the partners in a targeted, effective and sustainable manner and to bring them together, based on their different competences. Die Steigerung der internationalen Sichtbarkeit der Produktionstechnik wird als \u00fcbergeordnete Zielsetzung des Masterplans 2.0 verstanden, um international eine noch h\u00f6here Attraktivit\u00e4t f\u00fcr den Wissenschaftsstandort Dortmund zu erzielen. Hierdurch sollen Vorteile bei der Rekrutierung exzellenter Wissenschaftler*innen, bei kompetitiven internationalen Forschungsprogrammen sowie bei der Entwicklung von internationalen Forschungsverb\u00fcnden auf h\u00f6chstem Niveau erreicht werden. Der Arbeitskreis sieht einen zentralen Bedarf f\u00fcr die Vernetzung, Kommunikation und Identifikation von Wissenschaft und lokaler Wirtschaft. Hierf\u00fcr ist die Festlegung einer Kommunikationsstrategie und von Austauschformaten erforderlich, um die Partner*innen zielgerichtet, effektiv und nachhaltig zu informieren und kompetenzorientiert zusammen zu bringen. Dies erm\u00f6glicht sowohl einen zielgerichteteren Technologieaustausch f\u00fcr Forschungsbedarfe und gemeinsame Projektantr\u00e4ge als auch eine enge Verkn\u00fcpfung von der Industrie mit Forschung und Lehre. Eine Verbesserung der Standortattraktivit\u00e4t soll zudem den Problematiken bei Akquise von Fachpersonal und wissenschaftlichen Expert*innen entgegenwirken.<\/p>

Ein vernetztes Transfer- und Entwicklungsprojekt, z.B. zum Themenfeld der \u201eDigitalisierung und additiven Fertigung\u201c, bietet die M\u00f6glichkeit, viele beteiligte Partner*innen mit den jeweiligen Fachkompetenzen effizient einzubinden. The close networking of science and business is also the focus of activities in the Science Master Plan 2.0. In the past, this has already contributed significantly to the growth and development of the city of Dortmund as a science and business location. Herausgestellt wurde insbesondere die Bedeutung der erfolgreichen Kooperation mit dem TechnologieZentrumDortmund (TZDO<\/a>) wie auch mit kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen der Stadt bzw. der Region. \u201eDie wissenschaftlichen Inhalte der Produktionstechnik werden in ihrer Breite und Tiefe sowohl an den Hochschulen (TU<\/a> und FH<\/a>) als auch in den Forschungseinrichtungen sehr sichtbar vertreten, so dass von einer Leuchtturm-Wirkung des Standortes Dortmund f\u00fcr Deutschland zu sprechen ist\u201c (Expertenkommission unter Vorsitz von Prof. Manfred Prenzel 2018, S. 79).<\/p> Die enge Vernetzung von Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft steht auch im Masterplan Wissenschaft 2.0 im Fokus der Aktivit\u00e4ten. Diese hat bereits in der Vergangenheit wesentlich zum Wachstum und zur Entwicklung der Stadt Dortmund als Wissenschafts- und Wirtschaftsstandort beigetragen.
